The secret events that are deleted are not recovable, so please use it carefully. There is one confirmation reminder.

🔒 Our Privacy Commitment

Zero Data Collection

Secret Calendar does NOT collect, store, transmit, or share any of your personal information or usage data. Everything stays on your device.

Secret Calendar is designed to be completely private. There are no user accounts, no servers, no cloud sync, and no analytics. All your calendar events, notes, voice recordings, and settings are stored exclusively on your iPhone using Apple's secure SwiftData framework.

💾 What Information is Stored Locally

All of the following information is stored only on your device and never transmitted to any servers or third parties:

Data Type Purpose Storage Location
Calendar Events Your created events with titles, dates, times, locations, and notes Local SwiftData database
Event Categories Custom categories you create for organizing events Local SwiftData database
Voice Recordings Audio notes you attach to events Local documents directory
Completion Status Tracking which events and recurring instances are completed Local SwiftData database
Alarm Settings Your configured daily alarm times UserDefaults (local)
App Preferences Settings like default event duration and accent colors UserDefaults (local)
Device Calendar Cache Temporary copy of iPhone calendar events for display (if authorized) Memory only (not persisted)

🔐 Permissions Explained

Secret Calendar may request the following permissions to provide specific features. All permissions are optional and only requested when needed:

📅 Calendar Access

Purpose: To display events from your iPhone's built-in Calendar app alongside Secret Calendar events.

How we use it: We only read calendar events to display them within the app. We never modify, delete, or create events in your device calendars. We also never upload this information to any servers.

Can I deny this? Yes! Secret Calendar works perfectly fine without calendar access. You just won't see your device calendar events within the app.

🔔 Notifications

Purpose: To send you reminders for upcoming events and daily alarm notifications for incomplete tasks.

How we use it: All notifications are scheduled locally on your device. No notification data is sent to any external servers. Notifications are generated entirely on your iPhone.

Can I deny this? Yes! The app will work without notifications, but you won't receive event reminders or alarms.

🎤 Microphone Access

Purpose: To record voice notes that you can attach to events.

How we use it: Voice recordings are saved directly to your device's storage and linked to specific events. They never leave your device.

Can I deny this? Yes! You can use all other features of the app without recording voice notes.

🛡️ Data Security

Your data is protected by your device's built-in security features:

  • Device Encryption: All data stored by Secret Calendar is automatically encrypted when your device is locked, thanks to iOS's data protection features.
  • Secure Storage: We use Apple's SwiftData framework, which leverages secure storage mechanisms built into iOS.
  • No Cloud Exposure: Since there's no cloud sync, your data cannot be intercepted during transmission or compromised through server breaches.
  • App Sandbox: iOS sandboxing ensures that other apps cannot access Secret Calendar's data.
  • No Third-Party SDKs: We don't use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking frameworks that could access your data.

🚫 Third-Party Data Sharing

We Do Not Share Any Data

Secret Calendar does not share, sell, rent, or disclose any user information to third parties. Period. There are no advertisers, analytics providers, or data brokers involved.

The only external service involved is Apple's App Store for app distribution and in-app purchases (if applicable). Apple's privacy policy governs how they handle App Store transaction data, which is separate from any data within the app itself.

📊 Analytics and Tracking

Zero Analytics

We do not collect any analytics data. We don't know:

  • How often you use the app
  • What features you use
  • How many events you create
  • Any information about your usage patterns

We believe that what you do with your calendar app is your business alone. We have no tracking code, no crash reporters, and no usage analytics. If you want to provide feedback, you can reach out to us directly via email.

👶 Children's Privacy

Secret Calendar does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since all data is stored locally and never transmitted, there are no privacy concerns related to children's data being collected or shared.

The app is safe for users of all ages as it contains no advertising, no social features, and no external data collection.

💿 Backup, Export, and Deletion

iCloud Backup

If you have iCloud Backup enabled on your iPhone, your Secret Calendar data may be included in your device backups. This is handled entirely by Apple's iCloud service and is subject to Apple's privacy policy. We do not have access to your iCloud backups.

Deleting Your Data

You have complete control over your data:

  • Delete Individual Events: Swipe to delete any event within the app
  • Delete Voice Notes: Remove voice recordings from the event detail view
  • Clear All Data: Use the "Manage Data" section in Settings to delete all events and categories
  • Uninstall the App: Deleting the app from your iPhone permanently removes all local data

⚠️ Data Deletion is Permanent

Since there is no cloud backup, deleting data from Secret Calendar is permanent and cannot be recovered. Make sure to export or backup important information before deletion.

🌍 International Users

Secret Calendar can be used anywhere in the world. Since all data remains on your device and is never transmitted to any servers, there are no cross-border data transfer concerns, and the app complies with privacy regulations including:

  • GDPR (European Union General Data Protection Regulation)
  • CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act)
  • PIPEDA (Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act - Canada)
  • Other international privacy laws

Compliance is straightforward because we don't collect, process, or transmit any personal data.

📝 Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app or legal requirements. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.

Significant changes will be communicated through the App Store update notes. However, our core privacy principle will not change: your data stays on your device.

⚖️ Your Privacy Rights

Since we don't collect any data, many traditional privacy rights don't apply in the usual way, but here's what you should know:

  • Right to Access: You can access all your data within the app at any time
  • Right to Deletion: You can delete any or all of your data within the app or by uninstalling
  • Right to Portability: You can export your data using the app's export features (if implemented)
  • Right to Correction: You can edit any event or data within the app
  • Right to Object: Not applicable - we don't process your data for any purposes beyond what you initiate

Law Enforcement Requests: Since we don't collect or have access to any user data, we cannot provide any user information in response to law enforcement requests. All data remains exclusively on individual users' devices.
